How to read a laser quote
Most quotes in this market are deliberately hard to compare. Not because clinics are dishonest, but because a quote built to be compared is a quote that can lose. Here is the line-by-line version, and the four things that decide whether two numbers mean the same thing.
Insist on the unit
Per session or per course, and for which area. "Laser hair removal from $99" is not a quote, it is a hook, and it is usually the price of a small area for one session. Ask for the per-session price for the specific area you want, and the price of the full course, written down.
Find what is excluded
The common exclusions are the consultation fee, numbing cream, a patch test, and the touch-ups after the course ends. Each is small on its own and adds up across eight sessions. A genuine quote lists them; a verbal quote usually forgets them until the card is out.
Check the course length against your area
A package of six is not wrong, but it is short for a back or a full leg, where eight to ten is normal. If the package does not cover the area you asked about, you will be buying more sessions at single-session prices, which is the most expensive way to buy this treatment.
Ask about expiry, transfer and refunds
Packages often expire in twelve months, which matters if sessions are six weeks apart and you miss two. Ask whether a package transfers if you move, whether it can be paused for pregnancy or travel, and what happens to the unused balance if you stop. The answers tell you how the clinic treats sunk costs, and they are a better signal than the star rating.
The touch-up question
Maintenance is part of the real cost. A clinic charging $150 for a touch-up is a different five-year proposition from one charging $60, even if the initial packages are identical. Ask before you buy, not after.
Put the four numbers side by side
Per session, course total, touch-up price, and the device model. Two clinics that match on all four are genuinely comparable; two that match on none are being marketed to you rather than quoted. Write the four numbers down for every clinic you call, and the decision usually makes itself.
Where this sits in the rest of the site
If you are choosing a clinic rather than reading up, start with how the treatment works and what drives the price, then compare the markets we cover and what we verify before you book anything.
This page describes how to compare quotes. It publishes no clinic prices; those appear on market pages only once collected and dated.
